    A post facility is providing Telecined .mov files in a hard drive from a 16mm film.

    The codec is Apple ProRes but im not sure about the proper frame rate.

    Should it be 24fps. The editor is new and the editing system isnt close to high end.

    If you shot 24fps…yes. 24 STRAIGHT UP if you intend to cut the negative or do direct to DVD and the web with this. 23.98 if you intend to output to any sort of HD tape format.

    If you import the footage into FCP you can look in the browser to find out the frame rate. Or you can open it up in Quicktime use the “show info” to see the framerate.
