16:9 problem
Anyone else having a problem with FCP 5 not correctly capturing 16:9 footage. FCP is supposed to automatically detect 16:9 footage, yet even when I specifically tell the capture tool to capture my XL2 footage at DV NTSC 48 KHz Anamorphic, it doesn’t do it. I have to manually go into each clip and check the anamorphic box. FCP 4 never had this problem.

Upgrade to 5.0.2 yet? I’ve heard that solves the problem.

I haven’t actually. I will certainly give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion. Also, I’ve always used Software Update to upgrade, but I’m hearing it’s better to download straight from Apple’s website. Any thoughts?

by the way, in the bins, you can select all the clips you want to change, control click on the anamorphic heading and change them all at once.
