Hi, I’m sorry if this has been discussed before. I have searched all over and haven’t found the answer I’m looking for.

I’m working on imacs, using FINAL CUT EXPRESS 4 with the final output being on a DVD with no menus. I capture all of my footage fine, setup the sequence DV NTSC Anamorphic, edit in 16:9. When I’m done and export a QUICKTIME REFERENCE it shows up 4:3. Sometimes the reference will show up 16:9 but it still has the properties of a 4:3 file. No matter how the reference file plays, it always burns 4:3(using Toast 8 Titanium). I can export using quicktime conversion no problem and everything is all good. I’m just curious to know if there’s a way to avoid exporting using quicktime conversion and still get a 16:9 DVD using toast. I’m aware that 720×480 is both 4:3 and 16:9(720(853)x480) Ive tried using Quicktime Pro 7 and changing the Movie properties before burning. It does change the picture from 4:3 to 16:9 but the properties still say 720×480(640×480) rather than 720×480(853×480) and still burns 4:3. This apparently works for iDVD but I dont want any menus which iDVD gives you

Can anyone help clear this up for me? I’d greatly appreciate it.

Yes there is an option in toast for aspect ratio. I have tried automatic and 16:9, both resulted in 4:3
