16:9 Anamorphic Compressor Exports
Ok so I have anamorphic PAL material that I need to get a web copy out of. Dropping that straight into compressor and putting the highest rate h264 download codec (or any other for that matter) renders out a anamorphic 4:3 comp. I want it to be a widescreen size comp. What am I doing wrong? Im sure its something as easy.

Go to “Motion” tab in FCP. Go to “distort”. Change that to minus 33.33% and it will squish it the correct amount to compensate for your 4×3 frame and will give you letterboxed output.

Found it under geometry>aspect ratio correction.
Very odd that ive been playing with that for the last day and only now it works.
