Thanks in advance for any replies…

OK… I have been asked to produce a video production at 16.9 wide screen pal.

I have produced all my animated renders at 1024 576 along with all my compositions in aftereffects at pal dv1 1024 576 square pixel.
I also need to add subtitles to the video but would prefer to have the sub text in the black area outside of the video frame in the letterbox area when view on a standard tv 4.3 and also on a wide screen tv 16.9.

My concern is that if i export all the time line from after effects at full 1024 576 and import to encore i cant edit in the letterbox area as this is area is not rendered.

I thought about creating a new comp in after effects that was 4.3 pal dv1 720 x 576 then scale the 1024 576 comps into this frame width giving me the borders i want and also allowing me to add text in this area, if i render out of aftereffects at pal dv1 720 x 576 and import to encore all would be viewed correctly apart from when the viewer is using a wide screen TV, then i image the image would be severely over stretched.

i wonder if anyone knows a good solution to make a DVD for both 4.3 and 16.9 with a base content at 1024 x 576, i used this base size as the media will be need for various media types such as web tv and DVD…

I have looked around the internet but its all quite tricky, basically i need a DVD that has subs inside the letterbox that can be played on on both 4.3 and 16.9 screen types…

    any ideas???
