16 TV-lines?

Hi Goran,
The only thing that suggest me this “The text message should be in “16 TV lines” is about the Teletext.
Have to go in one line in the Vertical Blanking so you can not use that line for any kind of text signal or so.
Nothing to do with a FC video editor.

Is possible that they talk about some subtitles size?
In PAL-land (guess you are there) the active picture is 600 lines.
300 lines per field. Those 300 lines are the same than your 576/2 pixels lines.
16 lines would be more or less the 5% of the high. Some 15 pixels.
I think you should ask them more information about this.

I just had to deal with this for a UK version of a spot i cut.

According to their guidelines, you have to export the frame of video that contains the graphic, bring it into “paint”, and from there, zoom all the way in and measure the brightest pixels. They should be 16 high. You can not count the ones that start to gray or go less than white.

Also, your titles, or disclaimers or whatever it is on screen turns out much bigger than you actually wanted them.

So, 16 is not the font size, it is the actual measurement of the title in scan lines.
