16 bpc project setting-Not rendering 16 bpc
I have my project settings set to 16 bit, and in the render queue, my render settings are set to 16 bit. I’m rendering out as a targa sequence. When I render, if I check one of the targas, it’s only 8 bit.
Can anyone help? -

as far as i know targa’s are only 8 bit files. selecting 32 bit in the render queue only means you’ll have an alpha. if trillions of colors is grayed out then you have picked a format that doesn’t support 16 bit per channel files.

Targas are only 8 bpc. Use a 16 bit format such as TIFF, PSD, OpenEXR, HDR etc.

Ok, wow, I never knew that. So in order for the tiff sequence I’m about to render to be 16 bit, I have to change “depth” in the output module to “trillions of colors” not just set the “color depth” in the render settings to 16 bpc, right?
