  • 16-bit RGB Tiff which codec to use to output

    Hi,
We have a client who has created an NTSC RGB 16-bit tiff sequence and were wondering which Xena codec to use to keep maximum quality when outputting to NTSC Digital Betacam.

We have a Xena 2K running with Premiere Pro 2.0, We also have after effects should it be required to trancode the sequence.

    Hope you can help.

    Kind Regards

    Chris

    Chris,

You should setup a 16-bit project within AE and import the 16-bit Tif files into it

Sorry, that post above is slightly incorrect.

The “Trillions of Colors” should be set in the AE output module settings, not in the Xena output module settings.

    Hi,
Thanks for that I will give it a try. Just out of interest I was unable to find information about each codec and which is best for specific tasks. Is there a good resource on the internet explaining the best codecs to use to keep maximum quality when outputting to Digibeta, HDCAM and Film using a Xena 2k card.

    Regards

    Chris
