1.4 Million users
Posted by Richard Boghosian on July 23, 2009 at 9:36 pm1.4 Million users and Apple just adds features without fixing/upgrading the issues some of us have always had with this app. Exasperating. Especially the continuing inability to author Blu-Ray. No wonder they lowered the price.

Yep, Exasperating. Especially the continuing inability for people to purchase a professional Blu-Ray authoring tool if they really need one rather than just blaming Apple for not providing one free of charge in Studio.

Hmmm.
What does this (not) mean then?
“Blu-ray disc and DVDburning. You can now easily burn a Blu-ray disc or a DVD directly
from Compressor. Quickly add a menu to your disc by choosing one of the beautiful
Apple-designed HD or SD templates or, to achieve a specific look, import and use third-
party or custom templates.”
From Page 55
https://images.apple.com/finalcutstudio/docs/Final_Cut_Studio-In_depth.pdf“Operationally, you insert chapter markers on the timeline as before, and then choose Blu-ray from the Share menu.
Apple includes five HD menus. You can build your own in Motion, or customize in the Share menu by inserting a custom background image, logo, or title graphic. Final Cut Pro creates all required chapter menus and all links between all menus and chapter points. Navigation is all preset—menu to menu, and then to chapter points—so there’s no menu branching. You can use markers for closed captions, but there’s no provision for multiple audio tracks, pop-up Blu-ray menus, or the like,”

July 24, 2009 at 11:40 amYep, that means we can finally stop using Encore for even the simple “Play Only” discs (assuming this all actually works in Studio) and just use Apple and DoStudio for all our BluRay disc work.
