    Hi,
Does anyone know if there’s a way to over ride/compensate for the following issue when playing a sequence back via firewire to the Panasonic 1200A deck?

“When 1394 is selected as the menu item No.600 [VIDEO IN SEL] setting, the output picture in the E-E mode or output picture during recording may be disturbed in the vertical direction even when this item is set. However, there will be no problem with the pictures which are recorded on the tape.”

This basically means that if you’re playing out of your editing suite and into the deck via firewire, any simultaneous regular, non-firefire video out signals from the deck, in HD or SD, component or SDI, will appear jumpy. For a variety of reasons I’m trying to capture SD-SDI out of of my DVCPRO HD sequence, using the deck as a makeshift downconverter. I only have firewire out and the other machine I’m capturing to has a capture card that only takes SD-SDI.

Any advice would be appreciated! At the very least I can print to tape via firewire, then play the tape back and capture it through the SD-SDI.

    cheers,
    Hannah
