  1200a audio channels

  I’m just a dumb country boy and have a question about the number of audio channels on the 1200a. Page 6 in the instruction manual says that via HD SDI there are 8 channels of audio but
  nowhere else do I see reference to 8 channels. Lots of talk of 4 channels. Is there a way to monitor 5,6,7,8? Or by saying 8 channels do they mean 4 in and 4 out?
