  • 12 Core Mac Pro Compressor Problem?

    Hi All,

I just got a 12 Core Mac Pro and several of my Apple Compressor settings just refuse to transcode. I’ve tried them on other 12 Core systems with the same problem. I use them on several older Mac Pro 8 Core systems without issue. All of the software, OS 10.6.4 and ProApps are the same on all systems, so it seems to just be the 12 Core Macs. Is anyone else seeing this?

    Thanks,

    Adam

can you create new ones and they too fail?

Yes, I can recreate the settings from scratch and they too fail. An example setting is one that transcodes my ProRes 422 1080i60 source to XDCAM HD 1080i50 PAL. It fails if I turn on frame controls, but works if I leave them off. The client rejects the files created without frame controls, so I need them on.

    Weird.

Do you use a quick cluster?

I cannot get these settings to work on my computer, a quick cluster, or a managed cluster. A 12 core system will not start processing the segments.

And it doesnt work without a cluster at all?

Are these fresh installs or migrated?
