10Gbs USB 3.1 standardized. See you in a year?
USB 3.1 standard is out: 10Gbs transfer rates, full backward compatibility with previous USB versions. When? Well, it took a year for first USB 3.0 products to ship after the standard was completed. Hopefully 3.1 will faster. (Isn’t it supposed to?)

A Jan 2013 Macrumors post states “The new protocol should be finalized sometime in 2013, with initial products featuring the connector appearing in late-2014 or 2015”
Sounds about right to me from what I know also.
