    Hi Guys

Yesterday I exported an animated mov file, from my mac, to 10bit Uncompressed.

I tried playing this file on my pc, but it fails to play the video. I can hear the audio but the screen is black.

Any ideas what I’d need to do here?

    I’m using FCP 7.
On my PC I have QT version 7.6.6 installed.

    Please help!

    Thanks

10 bit uncompressed is a pretty heavy load for most computers and drives. Chances are, the drive on your PC is not capable of the speed needed to play back this file. Maybe your PC is also too old and slow to do it as well. Finally, make sure that you have the proper, updated software on your PC to play this back. Has that computer EVER worked playing back a quicktime? Is it only 10 bit that craps out? If other flavors work, then it most definitely is a bandwidth issue. If NOTHING works, then it’s probably a software/settings issue.

The 8 and 10 bit Uncompressed Codecs are installed by FCP and are not part of the standard Quicktime package.

To get them on PC, download the software codec from AJA, which will allow playback.

    Hey guys.

So I exported the video as an animation which is how it was originally sent to me.

When I play this mov file in my pc, the video pauses. It plays perfect on my mac. Could this be because my PC is not powerful enough to process the video?

I’ve added a video to show this. Watch how the video pauses and the bar on the bottom right loads up during this.
