After updating Apple Server to 10.9.4 we cannot see the Areca Thunder8 raid as a mounted disc.
The volume is accessible through external AFP or SMB connections, but will not mount as a disc on the clients either.
Raid drivers for the Areca unit are the latest available – and it worked well in 10.9.3, except unstable server connections from PC’s (which is why we updated the server).

Anybody else have the same problem?

10.9.4 and 10.9.5 work perfectly with OS X Server, and the Areca RAID array.
You now see what happens when you try to “build it yourself”. Things don’t always work out well.

    Hi Simon

Thanks for the reply. Yes it does show up in Disk Utility – and says it is “mounted”.
Clients can log on with SMB or AFP, and the Areca disk will be accessible form here. But I cannot access it from the server itself.

First of all Bob, I did not build myself. The system was sold by a provider.
Second, the system mounted fine with 10.9.2- but I had to update because we were having issues with PC’s disconnecting. It is a known factor that Apple has had problems with the transition to SMB2.
