1080p to 1080i & maintain framerate?
Hello,
I just shot a video at 1080p at 59.94, 422. But I need to convert it to 1080i maintaining the same framerate. I’ve been fiddling with FCPX but when I try to change the project settings, the framerate always reverts to 25i with my only other alternative being 29.97i. Is there a way within FCPX to change to 1080i while maintaining the 59.94 framerate? If not, is there possibly another alternative that can accomplish this?

There is no such frame rate. 1080i is 29.97 FPS, and 60 fields per second. 59.94i and 29.97i are the same thing. Some programs are referring to the fields per second and some are referring to the frames per second.
When you put 60p footage in a 29.97i (or 59.94i) sequence, each frame is mapped to a field.

Also you have to set the project framerate before any clips are added- once the first clip goes in it’s fixed.
