Why does the Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1080 30p (1920×1080) sequence preset set itself to 1080i?

I’m trying to marry some aerial footage that I shot with a Sony HDcam at 1080 30p with the rest of my footage that was shot in DVCPROHD 720p.

    Anybody run into this before?

    I have a Kona 3. I don’t have 1080p30 setups.

You can change the field dominance to none in both the sequence settings and the clip properties. As long as it was shot at 30p, this method will do the trick.

because the default 1080 format is PsF (search the FCP or Kona forums for a explanation) and is always output as interlace.

That stinks. i was assured that the 1080psf was a true progressive. I am trying to edit it into my 720p footage and the conversion looks bad (tearing interlacing lines!)

What method would you use to get the cleanest picture into a 720p sequence?
