1080p ingest
Posted by Andrew on October 4, 2011 at 1:58 amHi,
If I shoot 1080p can I ingest into Premiere Pro?
Do I have to convert first to 1080i, or will it just read it as that upon capture?
Deciding on wether to buy it or not.
Thanks

October 4, 2011 at 2:40 amWhat format are you planning to shoot with?
Tapeless formats work as they are and you can make new sequence from clip in CS5.5 so the sequence matches all the properties of the clip/s in the edit.

October 4, 2011 at 3:58 amThanks for the reply Jon.
I’ll be using a bunch of different formats – mainly tapeless though, like XDCAM EX.
If it is on tape shot 1080p, will I have ingest problems? -

October 4, 2011 at 4:02 amAdobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 software only will only capture/ingest via firewire either DV or HDV, you will need to get a thrird party I/O card for capturing in anything else 🙂
Shouldn’t be a problem.
Multi-format tapeless media is what Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 is all about 🙂

PS: Tapeless just navigate to the harddrive folder/structure to access the recorded assets.

October 4, 2011 at 4:24 amDoes Premiere Pro 5.5 work in Mac Lion or any version of Snow Leopard?
I was a little confused to read the below on the Adobe site under system requirements…“Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.3; Mac OS X v10.6.3 required for GPU-accelerated performance in Adobe Premiere® Pro”
Cheers

Yes, Premiere Pro CS5.5 works on Lion, with a few caveats listed here:
