This is probably a newb question, but I need to ask it anyway.

I’d like to use Wirecast to capture capture 1080p video to a disc using a 1080i59.94 output from a HD-SDI switcher.

What is the best way to do this in Wirecast?

I guess I’m a little bit confused about the rules when using a 1080i59.94 signal to get a 1080p signal. I’m guessing that my file output settings would be 1080p29.97. But, do I need to manage the de-interlacing settings at all? Is that little selection box that’s by itself in the Wirecast settings box that says “deinterlace” the only thing that I need to worry about?

    All tips are appreciated.

    Thanks.

You can use “blend” in Wirecast Source Settings for the device coming in.
Then just record using 1080p29.97. On Mac I’d use ProRes. On Windows I’d use x264 .mp4 at a high data rate.
