I am editing something shot on AVCHD 1080i and will output to SD Widescreen DVD. Editing in SD DV, I often prerender to get a good look at various sections. With HD, I am assuming that I would choose a 1080i template at this point with Mpeg 2(the other choices are Avi and MXF)or do I choose the DVD Architect Widescreen Stream template, now?

Since you’re editing in and outputting to SD Widescreen, you have to render using the DVD Architect NTSC video stream MPEG-2 template.
    Or am I missing something?

Mike, I failed to mention that my project properties are set at HDV 1440 x 1080, as the AVCHD files are also 1440 x 1080, and that I plan to hang on to this project for awhile as I plan to eventually burn it to Blu Ray. For the time being, it will go to DVD Architect Widescreeen in SD.

    No problem John.
Since your project matches your source material, just use the DVD Architect NTSC video stream MPEG-2 template that I mentioned and you should be OK.
I’ve never done this before so a short test render might be a good idea just to make sure there are no unknown “gotchas” to worry about.
This way, when you do finally get your Blu Ray burner, you’ll be ready to burn to it without having to do anything else.

That’s what I figured. Thanks Ron.
