1080i 29.97 to DVD
Hello everyone,
Let me start with two qualifiers:
1) I’m an absolute beginner at all of this, and
2) I tried searching for information on the site about how to do this, and though I’m sure it’s here, I can’t find it.So I currently have a finished project sitting on a timeline in Final Cut Pro X. It’s 15 minutes long, and it is 1080i HD 29.97i Surround.
I have to convert this and burn it to a DVD. So far, I’ve tried the Share to DVD option in Final Cut Pro X, but it came out looking really bad.
Then I dragged an H.264mov file of the project onto a template in iDVD and burned it. The ratio must be off because the narrator of the video looks all squashed and skinny.
On my laptop, I have Final Cut Pro X, Compressor 4, and iDVD.
Any help, advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, without blu-ray, all HD must be down converted to 720×480 SD, 16×9 anamorphic to comply with standard DVD format. That’s why it looks bad.
