1080i 29.97 to 720p 23.98
I have tried searching for the answer to this question, but I have not found the answer I need. Over the last year we shot an indie film on a Panasonic HMC-150 and HPX-170 I tried to shoot it all at 720p 23.98 native. Because I use the cameras for other projects, and some of the movie scenes were rushed affairs.
3 or 4 scenes were shot at 1080i 29.97. I have edited this movie 1 sequence per scene, and when it came time to edit the incorrectly shot scenes, I edited them 1080i 29.97. I am now building a master sequence. How do I process the 1080i scenes to look good in my 720p 23.98 sequence? Thanks to the Herd for the help.

I was in a similar position, and wound up re-editing the 1080i scenes on a 720p24 timeline, then using compressor to conform them to 720p24 from the timeline and deinterlace them. They’re a little choppy, but not sure there’s much that can be done to work around that. Does anyone have any feedback there?
