  1080i 24p HDV with V1U

  I understand that FCP has problems with 1080i 24p HDV footage from the V1U. I love the look of this footage when playing to an HD monitor directly from the camera. I want to deliver an SD DVD using this as my source.

  Can I use the cameras downconvert feature while capturing this as SD footage and just edit on the good old fashion DV NTSC timeline? Has anybody tried this and had success?
