I’m shooting very soon using the Sony HDV Z1 camera. I’m shooting in 1080 HDV format, but some material has been already shot on DV CAM.

I’m trying to be offline editing on a powerbook G4, FCP HD, 250 Gb Lacie firewire HD, after each day’s shooting.
Now, am I bound to download the footage in DV format, or can you have a project in FCP HD with Lumiere HD plug-in with both HDV and DV formats somehow?

I know FCP 5 has now an HDV codec -can’t afford the upgrade at the moment, but then can you do this with it?

Anyway if in my case it is not possilbe, do reckon to up-convert somehow the dvcam tapes would be a smart solutiong, being just a few tapes?
Can you create a 1080 HD project, using Pal dv material, that you pan-scan and export it with the Lumiere plug-in back onto camera in HDV format?
is it possible but maybe not worth it due to render times etc?

In other words, how would you do it?

too many questions, I know… I’m going mad, but I would apreciate very very much any help or ideas, thank you
