  1080 25p AVCHD footage wrapped as 50i and stabilisation

  Hi,

  Seems that FCP X has a real problem applying stabilisation to 1080 25p AVCHD footage in a 50i wrapper. (I’m shooting with a GH13 but have not gone for native 24/25p as it seems unnecessary in PALland.)

  If I analyse for stabilisation on import, then stabilisation does nothing. If I convert to ProRes on import (with or without analysing for stabilisation) then stabilisation (subsequently applied) does nothing). The only option is to import natively (or as proxy) without analysing for stabilisation. I can then apply stabilisation afterwards and it works.

  This is obviously a pain given that the footage is really 25p. Has anyone found a workaround? In particular is there a simple way to strip away the 50i wrapper before importing? Very grateful for any advice.
