I know everyone usually likes to wait, but I’ve been having all sorts of little, quirky problems since 10.4.5 came out. I think I’ll jump on this one pretty quickly and hope they clear up.

    Hi Jeff,

Let us know how it goes, and what hardware you’re using it with (Mac, cards, etc). I may try the new OS update early as well, so I’ll post my results if I do.

    Tony!

I’ll be happy to share my experience but I have to warn you that I’m a firewire DV-only setup so my experience doesn’t mean much to a lot of folks around here!

I’ll be sure to mention any problems I come across, though!

Sounds good. Let us know if you did the Intel, Server or PPC version of the update as well.

    Hi,

    1. Do a backup so if things get worse you can get back (don’t burn your bridges behind you).

    2. Use Disk Utility or better yet Diskwarrior to repair the hard drive.

    3. Use Disk Utility to repair permissions.

    4. Download and install the “Combo Updater” replaces more files.

    5. Use Disk Utility to repair permissions again.

    Best Wishes,

    Mitch

I like to run two matching internal hard drives on all my Mac’s – one a clone of the other. That way when I install updates on the startup drive, I can always restore, or startup, from the cloned drive if problems occur. Of course, don’t do any updates in the middle of a project.

    Tony!

I jumped to 10.4.6 beacuse I’m between projects right now. Did tests all day and so far so good.

Works great here, no conflicts so far with CineWave or ATTO.
