  10.4.3 strangeness

  So I helped a friend upgrade his system today. We cloned his 10.3.9 as a backup first. Performed a Erase and Install of 10.4 on the main drive. Then I went ahead and installed 10.4.3 then the pro apps and lastly the IO and Kona 2 drivers. Everything was fine until the K2 drivers….I downloaded all the latest firmware and software. But upon installing the software, it said the K2 was no found. I opened up Apple System Profiler and indeed it does not list the K2 in the PCI slots. And the K2 software stopped installing since it couldn’t find a card, then all the K2 drivers disappeared from the hard drive!!!

  I had to expanded the drivers again from the downloaded SIT files. How strange?!!?

  We rebooted back into 10.3.9 and the K2 is recognized in the profiler!

  Also there is a firmtek serial ATA card and enclosure as well which 10.3.9 recognized but 10.4.3 recognized the firmtek card but not the enclosure raid!?!

  So does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on?!?
