10.3.9 System problems on MacG4
This morning I started experiencing problems with my 10.3.9 Dual 867 G4 with 768 mb of RAM. Is it any coincidence that it’s happening at a time when I’m getting a series of virus infected emails every day.
This is what is happning (as of last night, none of these were issues):
1. Can’t print. Every time I try, I get a “;Printing error”; or “;Not enough memory.”; This is what started it all.
2. Can’t log onto other Mac on my network. I get the spinning lollipop of death when I try. And I can’t access this problem Mac from the other Macs. It not longer shows.
3. I can’t turn on File Sharing in the System Prefs. Every time I try, the check mark disappears and File Sharing remains not activated.
3. I tried running MacJanitor (a utility that runs Unix based clean up programs) and it bombs every time I try.
The only other idea I have is that fact the last significant change I made to the computer was updating iTunes to 6.0.1 and QuickTime to 7.03.
Any ideas what’s going on? Or what I should do?
