Create a new timeline with the dimensions of 1920×1440 (this is the same width/height ratio as 1024×768) and drag your old timeline from the bin into your new timeline. You will notice this nests one timeline in the other and creates a video block just like any other footage. Right click this block and select “scale to frame size”. Render this video out to this size.
Youtube will add pillar boxes (black bars) to both sides because the footage isn’t 16:9.
Alternately, you could create a 1920×1080 timeline, nest your old timeline as I described above and then scale it to fit; this will crop some of the top and bottom of the image.
