Just a question I have been considering and testing for a while. When designing graphics for PAL 16:9 aspect do people find the best results using comp sizes of 720 x 576 with pixels 1.4, or at 1024 x 576 with square pixels. I have had varying success with both but wondering if anybody has definitive answer.

Both are the same when viewed on a monitor. From a production POV, some prefer anamorphic while others prefer working with aquare pixels. It’s the same when working with 4:3 – do you go with square PAR or no-square PAR?

My preference is to always work in square pixels. Lots of prevous threads on this topic.
