    Hey Folks,

I downloaded a F55 test clip and I can load it into Sony RAW viewer and MC7 w/AMA plugin. Resolve 10.1 Lite crashes when I click on either the original mxf or a dpx sequence created in RAW. I have tried 2k DCI (2048×1080) and HD 1080p.

The crash is the unexpected quit style as Resolve dies and I get returned to the desktop with no message.

    Anybody got an idea?

    Thanks,
    Robert A. Ober

What gpu do you have? What is your setup?

[Juan Salvo] “What gpu do you have? What is your setup?”

    Sorry ’bout that.

This is on my 2010 MacBook Pro 17″ with Mavericks, a GT330M, and 8GB. The test video is on a firewire 800 MyBook 6TB RAID0. The MacBook Pro has a new model iLock and a UAD Solo Expresscard plugged into it. I have tried rebooting, running fsck, and cleaning caches with a commandline tool.

    Thanks Juan,
    Robert

Try setting the raw to debayer at quarter resolution. I would guess it’s a gpu ram issue. That gpu doesn’t have much memory for resolve to work in.

Good point, I should have thought of that. I do have it at half but 1/4 makes sense.

    I will try that.

    Hey Folks,

Went all the way to 1/16 on the debayer and Resolve still crashes.

If BMD is reading, I am an IT person so glad to provide logs or whatever.

    Thanks,

Are you running the latest CUDA version?

[Juan Salvo] “Are you running the latest CUDA version?”

I think so, but I will check again.

BTW, this happens trying to load the mxf or the dpx sequence that I outputted from Sony RAW viewer.

I am also going to see if the Nvidea web driver will load. I am running it on the big machine with 10.8.5 and the 570 + Titan.

    Thanks Again Juan:-)

    /Gomer Pyle voice on

    Well Surprise Surprise!

    /Gomer Pyle voice off

I forced the GT330M on even thought it was seen anyway by Resolve. I downloaded and installed the Cuda Toolkit even though the Cuda driver has the same number. Did a restart and the mxf and the dpx group loaded at 1/16th. I switched to 1/8 and they stayed loaded. The mxf plays SLOWLY, the dpx does not change frames even though the timecode advances.

But that’s ok considering the 330M as you said is low on memory by today’s standards. Anything raw will need to be compressed or done on the big machine.

    Juan,
I suppose you saw the Candle Test thread where a setup like yours beat the ashcan Mac Pro.
    /OT off

    Y’all be cool,
