Activity Forums Creative Community Conversations 10.0.6 slow down!

  • Posted by Don Scioli on October 23, 2012 at 11:26 pm

I had a project which cut and played perfect in 10.0.5, then I just upgraded the new update, and things have showed down to a crawl on playback in the viewer, etc. The app seems to be rendering all the time.

I just downloaded and updated the newest (oct 19) Blackmagic intensity drivers but the same thing.

Mac Pro 2008 dual quad core 3.2, 16 GBs ram, ATI 5770.

    thanks

    What OS are you running?

Give it a while to see if there is anything going on in the background. also trash prefs and repair permissions.

I loaded a 1000 clip 120 minute project and 10.06 seemed slightly faster than 05.

There is at least one change in 10.0.6 that may affect projects that were cut on previous versions. Compound clips have been redesigned to ripple effects and changes through all edits in the timeline. If FCPX is trying to resolve that change in your project, it might account for additional work that it’s doing.
