I’ve totally tweeked my Decklink SP & my FCP HD, and still when I squeeze back 10-bit uncompressed SD over default black, I still see massive aliasing (sorry for the misspelling).

Yes it’s squeezed and placed at even intervals, and the same happens when I squeeze back via AE 6.5 then import into a 10-bit show. Is it that FCP HD has a problem playing this type of picture, and do I have to blur a little bit – if so, kinda lame?

Ivan do not respond, you are not welcome and sorry for the mis-posting in the overall Communications forum.

From all I’ve read the Decklink SP card is not a 10 bit card but rather an 8 bit card. See this thread on the Decklink forum. I checked the Decklink site and it appears they advertise the card to support 10 bit output, which may be true, but they make no mention of the input stream.

When you squeeze footage, you are in essence trying to squish many scan lines of video into a smaller shape that still produces the original scan frequency. Anything that moves or has diagonal lines will hose you a little. Can you add a slight vertical blur, or create a file sequence with whole frames or something?
