I’m dealing with an issue. Several shapes I’ve made seem to have an inherent 1 pt black stroke. I’ve tried giving it no stroke or even changing the color to no effect. I then tried making it larger and discovered that the 1pt black stroke was covering whatever changes I made. As you can see here, it has a 2 pt red stroke AND a 1 pt black stroke. I’ve also tried fixing it by applying settings from a good line to it via the eyedropper. The result tends to be even worse. For the life of me I can’t figure out what is causing this.

Adobe Illustrator gives you the ability to add Multiple Strokes to the same path.
Open the Appearance Panel and see if you have more than one stroke listed in there. If so, select and delete.
