Chaos Brings macOS Support and AI Tools to V-Ray for Blender
V-Ray for Blender, update 2 Allows More Artists to Speed Workflows and Create Stunning, Realistic, High-Quality Renders
Chaos today announces the release of V-Ray for Blender, update 2, bringing its award-winning rendering technology to even more Blender users with new support for macOS. This new update gives Blender users access to Chaos’ latest AI-powered tools for image enhancement, material generation and upscaling, making it faster and easier to craft stunning, realistic, high-quality renders.
“Responding to the Blender community, we’ve introduced macOS support to V-Ray for Blender, giving even more artists access to our industry-standard rendering and the latest AI technologies to deliver stunningly realistic rendering faster,” said Allan Poore, chief product officer, Chaos. “With streamlined workflows that enhance speed, scalability and accuracy, artists can spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on creating exceptional images and animations.”
Trusted across architecture, visual effects, product design and animation, V-Ray offers a complete, studio-grade rendering pipeline inside Blender’s interface. The update also adds support for Blender’s latest version, Blender 5.0.
V-Ray for Blender, update 2 brings access to a suite of Chaos’ latest AI-powered tools. The tools eliminate tedious, repetitive tasks and speed workflows, freeing artists to focus on creative problem-solving rather than time-consuming processes:
- AI Enhancer adds details and realism to supporting elements like foliage, people and terrain, helping artists refine renders without tedious rework and time-consuming re-renders. It allows them to fine-tune specific objects, such as clothing, and refine vegetation for greater precision and consistency.
- AI Material Generator turns any photo of a real-world surface into a render-ready, PBR material with all the necessary maps in just a few clicks. Part of the recently expanded Chaos Cosmos, AI Material Generator creates secondary materials that don’t require extensive art direction, allowing rapid scene shading without time-consuming setups or extra tools.
- AI Upscaler saves hours of rendering time while delivering crisp, photoreal results. Artists can turn low-resolution images into high-quality, presentation-ready visuals in a single click, boosting resolution while also sharpening textures and enhancing fine details.
V-Ray for Blender also enables artists to render their projects faster with Distributed Rendering, which spreads the workload across multiple computers.
Other new features include V-Ray Fur to quickly bring characters to life and add realistic grass, carpets and other fine details to scenes; and support for Cycles’ Material Override, for easier lighting analysis, custom clay and wireframe renderers.
