  • Need automated way to import hundreds of images

I am creating an animation for a project. All of my frames (drawings) are already saved in a folder which I have already created using photoshop.

I have my soundtrack prepared in Vegas but I have a problem when I’m importing all of my images onto the timeline. At the moment I have to manually drag 5 pictures at a time or so and resize them to fit into the the timescale I want (about 30 pictures per second). It is a very horrible and time consuming task and is taking up much needed time to work on the rest of my project.

Is there anyway I can import all of my images into the timeline so that they are automatically positioned? I assume there will be some way of doing it but I haven’t found anything for it so far.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Go to File > Import, browse to the correct folder, click on the first image in the sequence, click the “Open still image sequence” box at the bottom of the tab and click “Open”.
Change any desired options in the box that comes up and you’re done.
All the images have been combined into a single file sequence that can be dropped anywhere on your timeline.

You really should resize all those images within Photoshop. They should be sized and cropped properly before bringing them into Vegas. Vegas is aimed at video. Its forte does not lie in still image processing.

I don’t think she meant resize as new dimensions of width and height – I think she meant get all of the images into the correct TIMING (hence the 30 images per second…)
