audio problems in sony vegas pro 8
hey guys. can someone please help me, i am trying to edit my video, and i wanted to use the voice on the video, but how come every time i put the video on the timeline the voices are gone? please tell me on how to enable the voices on the video itself. thanks a lot to those who will answer . i appreciate it so much.

I am having difficulty in imagining just what it is you have? Could you please post a screen grab of your Workspace?

What audio codec does your source file use? You either don’t have that codec installed or Vegas isn’t expecting that codec in the file format that it’s in. You can use a free utility called GSpot (search for it on the internet) to determine what codec is being used and if it’s installed on your PC. The file type of the source files will determine if Vegas can use that codec. You didn’t say what type of files these are. Let us know what you find.

I have noticed that when I select a section of video in the trimmer that Vegas occasionally selects only audio or sometimes only video even if both audio and video were selected the last time I performed the operation. This seems to be random and comes and goes without rhyme or reason.
Make sure that if you are selecting a portion of a clip in the trimmer, that Vegas is set to select both audio and video. I’m not in front of Vegas at the moment but from memory, I believe you select the range you want and then right click in the selection. One of the options will be audio only, video only or audio and video.
Also, make sure that your audio track is not muted.
