  SD to HD plug-in for Vegas Pro 8

  I take people’s home movies in VHS, convert from analog to digital with a Canopus ADVC 300 then send to Sony Vega Pro8 in my pc. The question is: What plug-ins are available for upconverting SD to HD for Vegas Pro 8 and how good are they?

  Red Giant has about the only plug that works, and it doesn’t work in Vegas. It’s halfway decent, but overall, you’ll likely find Vegas does a very good job (although not as good as Red Giant) with what you’re inputting. However….VHS source to HD? Questionable at best, and expecting very much out of it is setting yourself up for disappointment.

  Thanks for your reply. Sony is an excellent software program that has served me well for many different projects. I was simply “reaching for the stars” in trying to convert VHS tapes to look very well on HDTV. As a side note: Your training videos on VASST have been a tremendous help for me…….many thanks for your excellent presentations on those videos.
