  How do I hide those little yellow squares, and what do they mean?

  The help files are your friend.
  Yellow means no support for multithreaded rendering.
  Blue means no support for floating-point processing.

  I have both yellow and blue marked effects.

  Yea, the help files are our friend BUT woudn’t it be nice if SCS put either tool tips or a legend on all these obsure little markings they apply throughout the product.
