  Change aspect ratio to “squash” a clip flat?

  Here is a Pro 9 question…. the answer should seem so easy and apparent, yet I can’t figure out how to do it.

  Imagine this:

  I’ve got a clip on a track. I use Pan/Crop to make that clip appear small within my larger timeline/Preview. Station it on the upper right side of the overall Preview screen.

  Ok.

  But that clip, made small, always retains its correct aspect relationship (the people in the clip look correct… and I don’t want that in this case).

  What if I want to squash (and hence, distort) that panned clip. Make its width much larger than its height, and also distort the imagery seen on the clip… to, in effect, “squash” it.

  How can I achieve this?

  Video FX is where you’ll find the Deform Preset, Compress Vertically.
  Drag and drop on the video you want to change. Keyframe to set where, when and how much you want.
