April 9, 2010 at 2:28 amIf you want to make space you just have to select the Ripple button and then choose either “all tracks” or “affected tracks”. Be sure to place your time line where you want to make the space. Then just click and drag the media in front of your line and drag it. Be careful as this takes some practice and can really mess up things quickly. I would rename your project first and then play around with until you get the feel for what it does. Get into the habit of double checking it is not selected after you have used it. It has burned me many times over for forgetting this. Hope this helps.

April 9, 2010 at 4:28 pmTurn ON auto ripple and select all tracks and events from the drop down. PLace your curser where you want to insert the new video. Select all (Edit menu). Press S (split). Then drop your new video at the split location. It will be insert edited at that point and everything else will be moved down behind it

April 10, 2010 at 2:17 amThat depends on what is on the tracks or else you could wind up splitting anything that overlaps your position and make a lot of work for yourself. Like I said be safe, rename it and practice before using it.
