  • WMV flickering corruption when rendering

Posted by Michael Morrison on April 2, 2010 at 10:27 pm

    I am using Vegas pro9 64 bit.

I am having frequent problems whenever I try to render an WMV file from the timeline.
The WMV rendered is corrupt with a flickering. I posted a sample you can see here,
    https://www.mscwar.com/members/sniperx/vegasvideoflicker.wmv
I am not having any issues rendering to other formats just wmv.

I have been able to render several times without corruption but don’t know what causes it. I have tried all the wmv settings, project settings, setting standard templates, audio, no audio etc. But usually getting the corruption.

    Here is the workflow..

    canon vixia HD100 1920x108060i clips.
    i7 Intel- 12GBram WIndwos 7 64Bit.
Sony Veagas pro 9 64bit version.

I had this problem occur often with avi videos. Strangely enough, they call came from a friend’s camera so I couldn’t blame Vegas. 🙂

What I did to get around it is prerendered those clips in the timeline, and then rendered them out to another format (like mov). Then I took those mov files and brought them into my project with no issues.

    Hope this helps.
