    Hi everyone,

I am working on putting together a video right now of a public speaker that was shot in a large auditorium w/o any people in it. I had the speaker using a lav mic, but I’d like to give the audio a bit of a reverb to enhance the large feel of the auditorium.. only problem is audio is not my area of expertise by any means, and I’m not sure which FX/filters/etc are the best to use for this situation, or really what to tweak when I apply them. Could anyone give me a few pointers on this?

I have used Sound Forge Studio and have found that it works quite well for this type of effect. It is also $55 vs $375 for Sound Forge Pro. You can download the trial version and see if this is what you are looking for. Perhaps others with more experience may have some thoughts as well.

Impulse response reverbs are perfect for this kind of job. Most DAW’s these days have some form of VST support that you can use to load an IR verb. Predelay is the setting you want to toy with the most. That will really define the size of the environment.

And of course the decay.. 2-3 seconds can create a massive space, but can quickly muddy things up if you mix to much in..
