I ran into the problem that a lot of people have been running into with Vegas 9 rendering HD, SD renders like a charm. The error message is there isn’t enough memory. I tried all the RAM tricks, I tried the network render, and nada. After reading every forum online, it seems as though Vegas 9 still hasn’t fixed the bug yet so I’m going to go back to Vegas 8 for my HD renders until this is fixed.

I noticed that Vegas 9 added a few new transitions and video plugins that I loved and used in a project. This project has turned into a series and I need those transitions and plugins to continue the look of the series. I’ve been looking in all the folders like crazy to try and nab those plugins and pop them into Vegas 8. Anyone know where to find them in my plugins? And is this even possible to transfer them over to Vegas 8c?

    Thanks!

The gradient wipe can be transferred from V9 to V8 easily. Just copy the vidpcore.dll file from the vegas 9 Video Plug-ins folder into the vegas 8 Video plug-ins folder, replacing the existing vidpcore.dll file. (just to be sure, I would always first backup the original file…)
About the new effects (glint, soft-focus etc), they can not be transfered to Vegas 8. However, if you need them only for a short time, you can download the trial version for Vegas 8 from their original website:
    https://www.velvetmatter.com/downloads.html

They are no longer for sale.
