sony vegas movie studio platinum 9.0 rendering problem
Please help! I have been trying to render a video since I bought this program (1 month) stops after about 3% or I get an error message with no details…please help me resolve this problem

We need a LOT more information in order to try and help you.
DO you have the latest version of Platinum, what OS, your CPU, how much RAM, how many hard drives, what kind of footage is on the timeline (please be very specific here), what FX (if any) are you using, what format(s) are you trying to render to? -
Thank you! Here is the info I could gather…please let me know what else you need….My computer is 64 bit and not sure if it is compatible, I can upgrade to Windows 7 if you think this would make a difference. Smaller video like 20 seconds was able to render.
OS is vista 64 bit
Pentium dual-core cpu 2.60 GHz

Sorry for the delay in responding.
Your footage description is somewhat vague so can I assume that it’s an mp4 file?
The fact that you only have one hard drive is, IMO, a definite concern.
If the drive is close to being full, that is a definite problem.
Two hard drives are the minimum recommended for editing.
Hard drives are very cheap these days so cost shouldn’t be an issue.
Dust is a major render problem (CPU temps can increase dramatically) so when was the last time you took the sides off the computer and cleaned it out?
