  Opening vegas 8 projects in v.9

  Hi

  I was working with Vegas v8.0d. and when I got Vegas Pro 9.0c Build 896 I tried to

  open the projects that I was working on with version 8.
  but it refuses to open and give me this message:
  “The COM object failed to initialize.”
  and in details I found these two lines:
  02fd3b60-986b-11d4-9f6f-00485481bd31 – Media Generator
  02fd3b60-986b-11d4-9f6f-00485481bd31 – Media Generator

  so is there’s something that I can do to fix this?

  Very odd indeed . . .

  I can open V8 in V9. I can also have my own Generated GenMedia open from V8 into V9 – which is what I thought WOULD be the issue? Unless . . unless . . you ARE opening a V8 that HAD usage of some GenMed that you now have removed OR have you switch PCs with this install of V9 – that could be it?
