  Create YouTube video with Vegas?

  Hello again,
  I finished a 5 minute video (MPG2, then DVD) for a friend using Vegas. There is a thought to “shrink” it and upload it to YouTube. Is there a setting to “render” a video using Vegas, so that it is the right size and type, acceptable to YouTube?

  If you have Vegas Pro 9.0 you can use the “Internet” templates in the Sony AVC render type. They are specifically there for YouTube and other on-line video sites.

  There were two qualities of YouTube renders, normal and higher. There were also listed as “30” and “25”. Not sure what that means, is it NTSC and PAL? (And if so, why would there be a need for two versions, since they all go to the “same place?”)
  Also: There appears to be a vegas “shortcut.” Project/Upload to YouTube (withe the choices of quality.) But it wasn’t clear whether Vegas would also save the rendered video ~ didn’t want to try it that way. It looks like an .mp4 file, would it go to the created “Renders” folder?

  Yes, that is NTSC and PAL. You should upload the format that you shot your video in since they support both.

  That option is not in Vegas Pro so I assume you are using Vegas Movie Studio. I’d imaging that it will render in a format appropriate for YouTube although YouTube keeps changing their formats so it might not be the best format but it should work.
