  • Rendering Problems – HELP!!!!

Posted by Mark Weir on January 4, 2010 at 1:30 am

I recently upgraded to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b (downloaded it the other day).

Imported all my mts files from my Sony Handycam.
Edited it – just like on my old Studio 7 and 4.

Trying to render into MPG-2 – and it keeps crashing or “Not Responding.”

    Now – I have a brand new PC – running Vista 64 – 12GB Ram, 4 TB – lots of memory etc…

What the heck can I do – this really sucks!

I am at the point of rendering 10 – 20 seconds of a 10 minute video at a 50% success rate at best.

    Please help!

    Thanks
    Mark

Try rendering to AVI and see if you have the same problem. If not, you could always render to AVI first and then use the AVI file to create the MPEG2 file but you shouldn’t have to do this.

I got this tip from another post and it seems to have worked for me. I was having a nightmare time trying to use Vegas Platinum 9.0b to render a project. Whatever format I tried, I would get random crashes. I was using a couple of large JPG image files taken straight off my HD camcorder. I opened the image files in PaintShopp Pro and resaved them as JPG with 10% compression. The images still looked great but came down from 2MB to 150Kb each. Whether it is by fluke or not, my project now renders every time and in any format. So, are you including large images?
