Yes. 32-bit plug-ins cannot be used by 64-bit Vegas. You need to go back to the plug-in makers and ask if they have 64-bit versions of their plug-ins and if they don’t, ask when do they plan to? You’ll have the same problem with codecs. 32-bit codecs cannot be used by 64-bit Vegas either. Welcome to 64-bit computing… (maybe 10 years from now) 🙁

    This is a bit confusing.
Are you saying you installed VEGAS 64BIT… or are you saying you installed Vegas32 on Windows 64bit?

As John points out most of the plugins are 32 bit and will not work in Vegas64. But for this reason I am running Vegas32 on Window7 (64bit) and all my plugins work fine. (That’s new blue, mercalli, Pixelan, Excalibur, Ultimate S,… and a few others)

You are right. It is a bit confusing. Right now it doesn’t look like there is much advantage in running Vegas 64 bit. I have a fast computer so is there any advantage at all in using Vegas 64 bit with my Windows 7 64bit?

The advantage of using 64-bit applications is that you have access to all of the memory in your computer. 32-bit applications are limited to 2GB of memory even if your computer has more. 64-bit applications can use all of the available memory. So 64-bit applications are great for really large projects. That’s really it.

Here's a useful clarification and that few know. For memory RAM, Windows 32bit (xp, View or 7) all recognize around 3,5 gb (there are doubts about it). As systems based on 64bit recognize if I remember to 32GB of memory, Put the big problem and illusion of all is that in fact the Windows either 32bit or 64bit for 2gb only releases per application, Believe it or not, Whatever it. Information that few people know…A way to observe this is in games of last generation, Has no minimum requirement more than 2gb…Then what will make the difference is processor and vga. Make no mistake putting 12gb of memory on a PC that is wasted money.
