    Hi guys,

Having some issues when backing up files to archive. I’m losing 16×9 on the video.

Settings are NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720×480, 23.976 fps)
Footage is 16×9 prior to the back up…

See attached photo to understand what I’m getting…Any advice on how to resolve this.

    Thanks,

    Thomas

It looks like the footage might not be interpreted correctly. Check the Pixel Aspect Ratio on the event properties and make sure that it is set to 1.2121 which is the PAR for NTSC DV Widescreen.

    Hey John,

The initial time line the footage is 16×9 no problem, it only happens when I SAVE AS and the entire video timeline turns into a squeeze image.

That doesn’t make sense. You use Save As and the project that gets saved is no longer 16:9? What version of Vegas? Are you using the Copy media with project option? I don’t understand how saving a project can change it’s aspect (but I guess that’s why you posted) 😉 very strange indeed.

OK, Big Revelation, when I copy the SOURCE material I get the 16×9. I would prefer to have the ability to Trim the media with a 2 sec head and tail.
